A Friendly Welcome

St. Stephen`s United Church

  What to Expect:

Sunday 11:00am worship until noon.  (Except the last Sunday of the month when we have a "Sing and Share" -      we start the service at 10:55am for a hymn sing. This is also the Sunday that we bring non perishable food      items, which is blessed and then donated to Simcoe Settlement House.)

During the summer months our services change time and we have also been sharing ministry, including some      worship service, with Columbus Community United Church and Northminster United Church. At the present time,we are in a period of discerning shared ministry and what that can look like. This has been an exciting time to share our gifts of ministry and build friendships at the same time.

The worship gathering includes: preaching, music, prayers and scripture. (We most often follow the Lectionary)

Music played during the services: a mix of traditional and contemporary hymns and songs led by a small choir; accompanied by a digital piano using a variety of rhythms and other instrumentation. The organist/choir director also plays the church organ. Sometimes we have drums and there is a possibility that ukelele will soon be added.

What is heavenly about our church:  the exciting opportunity to retell the story of the church and how emerging generations are in that story today.

How do people dress for service?  some a little dressy, most casual.
